Ok, if you're looking for something within standards (choice, service, cleanliness, etc), don't go. If you are, on the other hand, searching for an out of traditional experience, then this is definitely the best spot in town. 2 dishes to choose from to make a fresh start, and 2 main dishes, and that's it. That gives you an idea of how cooking is approach there. Personally, it's one of the oddest and best place in Paris. The food today was wonderful. Haddock salad (but there was much more than basic greens in that salad). Hake with mixed vegetable puree.
Ce petit resto m'a beaucoup plu. Accueil super sympa, ambiance mignonne, mais surtout on mange très, tres bien. (et petits prix!) Assiette de fromage magnifique. Formidable. Me donne envie de revenir. What a great little find, really off the beaten track. Very warm ambiance, the chef is very funny and sweet, plus an adorable waiter ("I am the menu!" he said). Excellent food, presented very nicely. Everything very tasty and an amazing cheese platter, with adorable little drawings of cows/goats/sheep so you can keep track of what you're eating! Go!
Tucked away down a little street close to Marcadet Poissoniere this pretty little bistro offers one of the best dinner deals in town at 18euros for three courses. Started with a delicious soupe au poisson whilst my partner had a "muscle stew", both of which were delicious with generous portions. Followed with half-cooked salmon on a parsley and pea cream (lovely) and a slightly dissapointing pork medallion with polenta. Then cheese (v.good smelly cheese board where you choose three of your favourites).and an OK chocolate cake duo (dark and white choc, teeny tiny). Wine was fine and good value (24euros bottle, 5euros glass). Service was very friendly and very chilled - this isn't the place for you if you want super-efficiency but we loved it for it's laid back, take-your time, old-school bistro feel. We stayed late (like everyone else there) and would advise to not turn-up before 20:30. Total bill for two, 3 courses, one bottle of white wine + glass of red (for the cheese!) = 64 euros...unheard of in Paris. Highly reccommended, not haute-cuisine but perfect for a Friday evening with your partner, family or big group of friends (the table of 15 next to us enjoyed many bottles of cremant!).
We had dinner there last Friday night the food was just correct but the way and attitude of our server were unacceptable.
