The specialization on fish. this is surprising as the fish is not very fresh. we had a salmon pan, grilled thunfish and gilled tint fish. No one stopped her eating. service was good, ambiente is beautiful, escargot and wobbly soup was decent. in any case over price for...the quality of the fish. I think I'm more upset with the people who give this a 5 stars. I know one night, it wasn't a night. if they are not about frozen fish, they may be in order.
On a November trip to Paris with my daughter, we ate here after a trip to the Musee D'Orsay. Because it was our last day in Paris, we splurged for this very traditional French restaurant. We were not disappinted. I ordered beef Burgundy, and my...daughter ordered a truffle pasta dish. The atmosphere and service were excellent as was the food. We were very pleased with our meal and made a good Paris memory.
We had a decent meal at this bistro in St Germain during a quick stopover in Paris. With hundreds of places to choose from in the capital of gastronomy, it’s hoped that all meals will be amazing. While perfectly fine, our boeuf Bourgogne was not...the life changing food I was hoping for. Perhaps I’m guilty of relying too much on reviews as many people may only visit the city once so everything seems amazing compared to the food in Topeka. Alas, we were seated right away I’m at a small table abutting the wait stand (at least it was easy to get his attention and both opted to try the beef, as the menu claimed it was selected as “best in Paris” along with a couple of glasses of the house Pinot.. the flat flavorless wine (a rarity in a city where restaurants refuse to serve bad wine , perhaps should have been a clue as to what was to come. Our door was serve within 5 minutes of our order-shockingly fast-either (was this because we were Americans ? barely before we’d had our first sips of the mediocre wine. Obviously the stew was prepared already, after all it takes hour to cook it, so in a way it’s not a surprise that it could come out fast but nothing we did or said indicated we were in any type of time crunch although we were 10 min early for our 8 pm reservation. We were done and out of there in 30 minutes-not what you expect when ding in Paris—a bit disappointing.
We were so lucky to find this little gem. The food was fabulous. The service was very personable. We had several dishes but the Terrine de foie gras du sud-ouest maison was very good and we loved the Notre fameux boeuf bourguignon d'Aubrac. If your...looking for great food and a wonderful setting this is your place.
