Typical brasserie menu; we had the menu of the day containing a salad to start in salad cream steak and chips; well seasoned meat and a dessert to complete the meal. The...steak, egg and chips were really a burger patty instead of steak, sent the eggs back because they were casual. The chips were great. Valuable, 60 Euro for three adults including a glass of wine and soft drinks.
On the streets of Northern Paris looking for somewhere to eat (first night no previous experience) came across this place that looked friendly though not busy. Tired after a busy day there was a way. Welcomed by the owner and identified as English immediately and felt welcome. Back to a table next to a Raidiator to get warm. But only from the main bar. Our waiter was the French alternative to the waiter from the Faulty Towers, beautiful guy, but so many mistakes (must have been new) althouth Sounds boring had the best burgers ever, place soon filled waiters made many mistakes, but the place had so much chaser and was so wecoliming
A very typical Parisian eatery in the 17th, a good amount of seating both inside and out, smoking at the outside tables, lots of small tables inside that can be quickly reconfigured to accommodate larger parties. They do wonderful job incorporating vegetables and proteins together...in a very tasty way, wines are very fairly priced, they speak several languages and were very polite to non French speakers. I stopped twice in one week because the service was so good and I had to have more than one dish.
August 2017 I ate here a number of times or just stopped in for coffee while planning trips into the city. It's a good Parisian brassier. The service is friendly functional and efficient. It's a place where locals come to eat out. It's not haute...cuisine. It's just good reliable French food. Cafe Allonge €2.50) and a croissant €1.70) plus 10% TVA. Dinner: I had filet de truite de mer fillet of sea trout) €14.80. It was cooked perfectly with a white sauce. It was all the more appreciated having had three rubbery fish fillets in La Vitrola in La Plaza Vieja Havana Cuba. A glass of Chardonnay was €4.50. With a cafe allonge and the 10 TVA that came to €21.80.
The wheelergue is one of the key places of the xviia, with a typical Parisian atmosphere and very appreciable. the food is of quality, the kind servers, and the service extremely fast. I can only recommend!
