It is run by a young couple. the service is impeccable and the food delicate and deliiocu; I had the lunch menuw hich is at 35 euros and consoted of three courses and lots of extras. I had a piece of trout with pickled onions and a piece of monkfish in mian course served in a delicate consommé of peas asparagus and fava beans and a dleiious dessert of an apricat semifreddo with a choclate crisp covering. It was alll delcious and refined. The evening menu is more expensie with either three or six courses. The whole thing is amarvelous experience./
This is our second visit to Ciasa Mia within two years, and both times were truly remarkable and memorable meals, with a cascade of amuse bouche surprises, including (both times) their signature egg yolk infused with truffle oil, served on a giant spoon, and meant to be put whole in your mouth where the burst of flavor is something you'll not soon forget. We've never had a dish here that was even slightly disappointing. It's an expensive place, but the service and the quality live up to expectations, with incredibly helpful and charming advice from the woman co-owner who is also the main server. It's hard to describe the nature of the food--it's northern Italian, but VERY northern. Nothing served here will remind most diners of anything Italian--rather, it's Alps Italian, which is to say close to Austrian or Hungarian or Alsatian, blended with some more mainstream Italian flavors, and, as the owner told us, with an increasing dose of French cuisine the longer they've been in Paris. It's a surprising and charming fusion. So I had gnocchi with goulash! The savory stew was served over three large gnocchi that reminded me of some melding of gnocchi and spaetzle. Whatever it was, it was beyond delicious. Also, try the tiramisu for dessert: it's like microgastronomy--a sort of deconstructed tiramisu (with a coffee foam on top) that invites you to taste all the ingredients that go into a traditional tiramisu and blend them on your palate. An extraordinary culinary experience: this place should be booked full every night (it was more than half empty, for reasons that are beyond me, the night we were there this time, though two years ago it was packed).
We had a table of 5 with the tasting menu. Incredible imagination and elegance in the plate. The wine list is made with passion with almost exclusively Italian labels. Monsieur is cooking and Madam is taking care of the guest... Definitely a place to go and recommend.
Our children ate here on their honeymoon and insisted we go during our visit. They were right. It was probably one of the best meals we have ever had. We had the 7 course tasting menu and we are so glad we did. Exquiste, simply exquiste. Expensive but worth every euro. The service was excellent. The staff attentive and the overall experience wonderful. Our top choice in Paris and we go to Paris every year!
Location: although in latin quarter, its almost hidden on a quiet side street.atmosphere: like being in someone's den. intimate, homely. service: it was superb and personal... (atleast until the [small] place filled up). welcoming in a friendly casual way.food: superb. amuse bouche very tasty, not just pretty-looking-but-tasteless like modern cuisine restaurants are wont to do. flavor, texture, progression were all top notch. on pure TASTE standards, we enjoyed this meal far more than the other michelin-starred restaurants visited on this trip. also nice selection of italian wines.value: tasting menu was awesome. really good value given the city
