The waiters, who doubled as AC maintenance guys, gave us ridiculous reasons for the room being hot. After causing a scene, the owner came and simply stated that all their ACs were in good condition, despite the clear evidence to the contrary. We were shown two other rooms, but none had proper cooling. Eventually, we settled for a room that at least had some cooling. The food was expensive and not tasty. I strongly advise against staying at this property where the owner does not care about its flaws. I had no choice but to stay there, as there were no other available rooms in Udvada. Sleeping in my car with the AC on would have been a cheaper and more comfortable option.
We stayed overnight at this hotel. The rooms are big and accommodates 4 large beds with ample space to walk and a big enough bathroom. They is also air conditioner in every room should one need it during summer times. They have started A'La Carte menu. Buy we suggest stick to the Parsi set menu. This offers fish, chicken/mutton, rice, lentil curry and chapatis. The service guys are quick and polite and will handle all your requests during the stay. Look out for the mango ice cream guys that come in auto rickshaws. The ice creams are prepared in the old fashioned way churned by hand. Also, the ladies that come to sell papads, peppermint leaves and lemons. The hotel is a 5 min walking distance from the Iranshah Atash Behram. It's nice place to stay overnight or if one wants to rest for a couple of hours between drives.
W. e had tea break here. Nice laid back style. We ordered sausages, eggs and tea. Food was good and chai was different and worth mentioning. A small garden and play area for children is there in front of the restaurant
We were here just for a day visit and wanted to use the rooms to freshen up and get lunch. The hotel offers AC rooms that are very clean and comfortable. The lunch offerings are based on what they have cooked that day and we got mutton curry rice (excellent), fried boi and fried pompfret among other dishes. The food was not as tasty as I recall in previous trips to Udvada but it was also less taxing on the tummy! The tea was excellent and I couldn’t get enough of it.
Clean and simple room Quick service (whatever we ordered from room was quickly delivered) Nice/helpful people Close to fire temple and museum The only challenge can be if you are with small kids then the range of food items available is limited. So carry some standard stuff. If you are reaching late in the night (post 6PM) be careful while following Google maps it may take you through a shorter route which requires crossing a railway crossing and that closes post 6PM. So better ask someone for Udvada town and then from there follow maps.
