Local dishes are executed perfectly in this friendly restaurant inside the fort. Banana and okra soups were excellent and so was local fried fish with rice. Nice open-air seating by the river. Opening times vary, good to check in advance.
Best place to get local food!!!! The food is DELICIOUS!!!
It is a very simple and cozy place, with a nice view of the river. The food is super tasty and the employees were very attentive. There is an area at the entrance of the place where you can park your car. The atmosphere is quiet and fresh. I ordered brown beans( bruine bonen) with vegetables and rice. The waiting time was about 30min but worth it, the only issue I found in the food was that the brown beans were a bit sweet, apart from that, everything was great.
I got rice, fish (Kandra Tiki) and greens (antroewa bitter melon). The fried fish was delicious. Unfortunately, the 2 greens had too much sugar and took away the healthy Oso Nyang feeling for me. The sweetness was to an extend where I couldn 't eat all of it. This dish was also served with a slice of fried plantain, enough pepper and ofcourse the slaw, tomato slice and cucumber. I had also ask for a sauce for the fish, which I got as well. It was a tomato sauce and it was oke-ish. I paid a total of SRD 170, which is equivalent to 6,80.
