This restaurant now only takes reservations, no walk-in and don't expect the place to be packed, it's usually very quiet. Expect a delicious meal, through the course of your evening. Great food, great service. Jacqueline, your waitress, and her husband Pierre, the chef will do their best to make your experience memorable. 220$ tips and taxes for 3 people, a bottle of white and a half-bottle of red.
We were recently at that restaurant with guests from out of town and our meals were all excellent from beginning to the end no matter what one had. Amount of food was just perfect, sauces rich (as in old French cuisine) and excellent. Very limited wine selection but it serves the purpose. The baked Alaska is just to die for. service is personable with Jacqueline who evidently loves to talk to the guests in the room. When we were there she had a young lady helping her with the service. Unfortunately, we have observed a change in her memory, but this does not change our love of the place. We had to remind her on three occasions our wine selection, then we got left hanging dry for the dessert selection where service was given to a neighbourhing table who were there after us (like 30 mins after) and got waited on for the dessert portion of the dinner...it is very sad to see actually as this may happen to any of us...I still highly recommend this restaurant for the quality of the food, sauces and more so the cost, there is no way you can go in Ottawa or Gatineau nor most parts of Canada with that amount of food, and quality for that price...I dare you. Some negative critics...well obvioulsy tastebuds differ...but if you travel worlwide just a tad bit well you may have a better opening of horizons and tastebuds. Some people have no gourmet food experience in all evidence.
We had an excellent dinner at La Table. The food was well prepared and just the right amount was served. The wine was well chosen and the atmosphere was pleasant and cozy. Service is charming, personable and not rushed. The restaurant is run by the owners and they take pride in their business.
The food was delicious and perfectly prepared. The service was pleasant and Jacqueline takes great pride in making it personal as well. Not a place to go to if time is an issue.
