Most of the dishes we tried were decent, though I found them just average; my wife, on the other hand, really enjoyed them. The atmosphere was lovely, and the service was quite good overall. The staff was friendly and accommodating, but they seemed a bit understaffed during our visit, which made service a bit inconsistent at times. This restaurant features a family-style dining concept where you choose your meat, sides, and dessert, and it's all-you-can-eat. However, I felt the prices were on the high side unless you have a big appetite and can manage to eat two or three dishes, which might make it worth it. In terms of quality, I found it to be just average. On the retail front, they have a variety of Paula Deen items for sale, so if you're a fan like my wife, you'll find some fun merchandise. Overall, I don’t feel rushed to go back.
This restaurant offers fantastic food and outstanding service. Be sure to come with a big appetite! We ordered the fried chicken, chicken and dumplings, and catfish. For sides, we chose macaroni and cheese, collard greens, potato salad, and mashed potatoes. Everything was delicious, and dessert was included in the price! This spot is a must-visit when you're in Pier Park.
The restaurant offers family-style meals featuring two meats and four sides, and we chose the fried chicken and reserved ribs, accompanied by squash casserole, macaroni and cheese, black-eyed peas, and cream corn. The fried chicken was cooked to perfection with juicy meat and delicious breading. The ribs literally fell off the bone and had just the right amount of BBQ glaze. Now, ranking the sides from best to worst: the black-eyed peas were number one, enhanced by the addition of bacon, followed by the squash casserole, which had a brilliant texture. Third place goes to the macaroni and cheese, another unique take on a classic. Lastly, the cream corn was okay, but to be fair, I was so full from the other dishes that I didn't have much room left. Overall, it was definitely money well spent, but there was still dessert to consider. I didn’t have space for any, though the bite I managed to try was delicious. Be sure to come hungry if you want to enjoy everything on the menu. I can’t wait to return next year. Thank you, Paula Deen's!
So wonderful! Food and family atmosphere is fantastic!
Really good food. Chicken was perfect ribs were tender. Squash casserole tasted like it was fresh picked. Desert oh my!
