Xoko - Panama

Went for an afternoon drive and had an early dinner at Xoxo Restaurant. Wait staff was great and menu offered in both Spanish and English. Prices are reasonable and the food is fantastic. The steamed clams were amazing in a white wine sauce. The deep fried fish is served whole with the head on and was cooked to perfection. We will definitely be back.

Restaurant is charming. Food is okay and inexpensive compared to hotels. Service is good. A bit dusty due to nearby construction and a tad noisy since its near the main drag. Easy to find and easy to get back on PanAmerican Hwy.

We 've been visiting Xoko for ever already and enjoy Chef Rolandos creations. Always perfect as the service crew is. The place has been upgraded lately and is in very good shape. Our only complaint has been that it should be closer to the ocean. This has been solved with the new CocoBlu right at Farallon beach, run by chef Rolando as well.

2 of the 6 in our party ordered half chickens and we're told there was only one left. So I ordered a different chicken with white rice and an awesome gravy. One other in our party ordered the New York strip steak. As we were ordering apparently the 2 other people that came in after us had ordered the half chicken and New York steak strip and again we were told the half chicken and steak was no longer available. Once we actually ordered something they weren't out of the food was amazing!!!!!! After dinner they came out with one free shot for everyone in our party for the lack of stock. Pricing was about $50 per couple with tip and thats with a few drinks each. Would we go again, YES I'd like to get that half chicken lol It cost us $5 per person each way to get there back by taxi.

We went to Xoko on a Sunday night. The food was excellent. We had paella for the entire table. In addition, we shared several appetizers including Papas Bravas, fish croquettes and grilled octopus. The menu has a good assortment of meat and seafood. All the seafood was extremely fresh. The tables in the restaurant are spread apart so other people can't hear your conversation. The service was excellent. IF I am ever back in the area, I will definitely go back to this restaurant.
