4 stars is generous. I'm use to Indian restaurants in the UK so maybe i have high standards? Anyway, i decided to to try this one in Panama. It was lacking a lot. I expected 4 dips with pompodons but they only had two, and they weren't what I anticipated. No mango chutney, no coconut, no spicy chutney, so instead we ordered another starter. It was ok. Biriani doesn't come with curry. The curry needs to be ordered separately, which for me is odd. My food was too spicy. I ordered medium hot, which was inedible for me. Table service was good though. one shared starter and two main courses with rice cist 100 usd adter tax etc. Expensive. I wouldn't go again, but that might be because I have high standards due to living in UK where there is huge abundance of great Indian restaurants at reasonable prices
Food was okay. The fish curry was nice but the tikka masala didn’t taste like a tikka. Service was good and price was okay for portion size.
I tried Raj and Maharaja (a short walk from each other). Raj is reasonably good, but it’s worth walking over to Maharaja. We had the butter chicken, samosas with mint chutney, garlic naan, and tandoori shrimp—the worst offender. The butter chicken was fine. The samosas not as crispy or delicious as anticipated. Another review pointed to ingredients not being fresh, which would make sense but I can’t say for sure. The mint chutney was a thin sauce and not a pleasant take on the classic. The naan was a bit greasy but edible. The shrimp was tough. Service was friendly. The total came to over $60.
The best Indian food my husband and I have had in Panama! Very friendly, nice and accommodating staff. The food is perfectly spiced for your preference, you will want to come back.
