Maito - Panama

This is definitely a wonderful local food tasting menu. Maito tasting menu is what I would recommend as it walk you through delicious locals flavors, the chef work to highlight the taste of great ingredients and does not overdo it. The design and decor of the restaurant is elementary and without pretension, the accent is on the cuisine. My partner and I still remember that delicious fish broth. All the plates were delicious and graduated slowly in flavors. I wish we could have come home with a little document telling us more about each plate because there was so much to know. Undoubtedly, an experience to do when going to Panama City.

This restaurant was suggested to us on the Plane into Panama by a local Panamanian Was told one of the best restaurants in the world. Of course we had to try it! It didn’t disappoint. We loved it so much we returned to eat again before we left the city. Been coming to Panama for 10 years and so happy we found this place. The food, atmosphere, and service was top notch!!!!!

The black rice is out of this world. Beautiful flavor mixed in with the shrimp. Catch of the day was cooked perfectly with notes of an Asian flavor. The sauce the comes with the shrimp dumpling I could drink as a soup by itself. Service here was the best in Panama City. Great attention to detail. Definitely looking forward to returning!!!

Tried the testing menu. All dishes were amazing, I especially loved the main dish (fish) and the desert with coconut. I will be back to this place again if I return to Panama. The staff were all so friendly and made good explanation of each dishes. Unfortunately I could only get the outdoor seating so it was a bit hot

The menu was in Spanish, but a waiter helped me understand what things were without hesitation. The food was amazing. Price point was fair for quality. Great service. Those wings are next level and the noodles with duck just wow. Definitely would recommend checking out this place on your trip to Panama. You will be extremely happy, you did.
