Caffe Riace - Palo Alto

After paying $35 for a plate of pasta and $21 for a calamari appetizer, I expected the appetizer to be served at the same time as my main meal, not ten minutes later. The chef should also take better care to ensure there are no teeth-breaking pieces of shell in the pasta. The appearance of the food was disappointing, with the statuary's appendages looking more appetizing as I left the restaurant.

I attempted to visit this restaurant during my lunch break today. Despite the empty establishment, I asked for outdoor seating in the shade. However, the waiter refused my request and attempted to seat me in the sun. Frustrated, I decided to sit inside to avoid further inconvenience. Unfortunately, the rude behavior of the waiter, who appeared to be the only staff member present, soured my experience. I left the restaurant within 3 minutes of arriving, without even looking at the menu. This incident occurred on April 17th, 2024, at around 11:15 am. The waiter/manager should be ashamed of their behavior, as they could have easily accommodated my simple request, especially considering I was the only patron at the time. Their lack of customer service skills is detrimental to the success of the business, as I was prepared to spend $50 on lunch that day.
