Eating was unique Georgian and very tasty. their caption appetizers were all fantastic, including, lamb dumplings, cheese brot in the form of a boat. for entrees we shared the grilled rainbow trout and lambskin, which were tasty with a very beautiful salat. then dessert we had a delicious napoleon cake and winter pears paired with a delicious glass ice wine.
Edit: they no longer offer the mushroom dumplings, I asked them if they could do them in the future again, but probably not when more people ask for only Georgian restaurant in the bay area and it happens to some really delicious vegan options! I always get the same thing mushroom noodles and beet hummus, but they have other options characterized vegan. it is expensive, but it is totally worth! very unique aromen. great if they are offered boring by the usual vegans (there are so many vegan Asian places in south bay and other kitchen are often hard to come). the drinks are also super, with fruits that you will not find anywhere else (feijoa actually grows in the bay, but I have never seen it sold) updated by the previous review on 2020-08-01
I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. Each dish had complex and unique flavors that I had never experienced before. The eggplant rolls in the appetizer sampler were fantastic, and the fresh bread was very comforting. The dumplings were a bit thick and salty, but still had a pleasant taste. The service was attentive and the decor was charming. I look forward to returning to try the sweet-seed pot, other breads, and more eggplant dishes. Overall, a delightful experience!
We were warmly greeted upon arrival and had a super attentive server who gave great recommendations. They were willing to ask for advice if unsure about something. We started with delicious eggplant rolls, followed by a cheese dish that didn't have egg or cheese on top. We then had a large eggplant dish, a pork kebab, and finished with crepes. The kebab was cooked well, but after seeing other tables, we may try the potatoes instead of salad and maybe the shashlik instead of kebab next time. The sauce with the kebab was fantastic. The crepes, served with condensed milk, sour cream, and strawberries, were heavenly. They also have a good selection of beer, including a nice half liter of draft beer. The atmosphere was just right. We will definitely be returning!
The food, wine, and service at Bevri were all excellent. We plan on returning and recommending this restaurant to our friends and family. A visit to Bevri in Berkeley is definitely worth it.
