El Rocio - Palma de Mallorca

We enjoyed a very good dinner at this cerveceria/restaurant. We had fish (rodaballo) and calamares a la andaluza. We also had a nice bottle of white wine recommended by the waiter. Camarero y camarera muy atenta y menu bueno. Buen servicio! 100% recomendable!

This place is not a flashy restaurant, it's a place where many locals go for lunch or dinner. As you walk in, you see in the fridge on the left the seafood and meat that is on offer, as well as any special vegetable. There are hams hanging from the ceiling, and there is a counter with hot and cold tapas. The food is really delicious and the service with a smile. The prices are very reasonable. It does help to speak Spanish! I love the albondigas and the croquetas, and I had delicious prawns and steak.

Im currently renting an apartment in the area, and fell into this restaurant by accident. Being a person who loves Spanish culture and food, I was impressed by the hospitality, cleanliness and superb presentation of traditional tapas. This must be one of the most under rated restaurants in Palma. The food is full of taste and flavour and representative of the best cuisine Spain is capable of producing. Although speaking little English, the owner and his staff went out of their way to explain everything to me in the most courteous of ways. They also prepare one of the most amazing cuts of Steak prepared for a hot plate to cook on the table to your liking....... DO NOT MISS OUT ON THE BEST TAPAS YOU MIGHT EVER FIND IN PALMA.
