I celebrated my birthday and had lunch with my mother last weekend. The issue we encountered was that the brunch menu on Sundays only lasts until 1 PM, and it consists entirely of breakfast items. We were disappointed to find that we couldn't order anything from the lunch menu until that time. If they had a more traditional brunch menu that included both breakfast and lunch options, it would have been fine, but they didn’t, which left us feeling upset. While I really appreciated the choice of dining there, we all sensed that the menu has become rather odd. It seems as though they're trying too hard to be unique instead of simply offering good food. I genuinely hope they reconsider the menu because it could use a more appealing selection.
Simon Bar is a fantastic spot for enjoying intimate conversations with friends. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere that complements the hotel setting perfectly. The food was well-prepared, and the menu offered a diverse range of options that catered to everyone without compromising on quality. The service was attentive, and the bar menu was more than adequate.
Excellent eating, too bad there were so few people to enjoy it.
Went with a group of 11 on a Tuesday night. It was so dead inside no one at booths at 6:30 and only a couple of people at the bar. The hotel itself seemed deserted (pun intended). We ordered a mix of appetizers and entrees. The Bacon Jam sounded interesting so we ordered that and to our surprise didn't look or taste anything like we imagined, however we really enjoyed it once we determined it tasted closely to BBQ pulled pork. A second round of oysters was ordered and the mac n cheese was quite tasty. The entrees took a quite a while and some of the people in our party complained about the wait; it could have been because two people ordered the massive amount of meat, the Bone in 32 oz Ribeye, which was well received by those who ate it. The scallops were grilled and seasoned well and the halibut was ordered fish was good but most did not like the sauce that came on top. Yes, we had a group with different food preferences so to that I would say this is a place for people who are open to trying new flavors using classic foods. I think the biggest draw back was the ambiance. It's just weird when you go into a restaurant and no one else is eating there. Our waiter was attentive and made plenty of recommendations. Lastly, the chocolate and peanut butter torte was on point. Great for sharing.
