Przekaż informację zwrotnąDinner at Melvyns was phenomenal. The service was upstairs and the food was great. came here for my birthday with my dad and wasn't disappointed. The bread is delicious with a crispy outside and soft inside. Steak Diane with mash potatoes was very full. Dad has the chicken pancake and the side of Mac and cheese. Everything in all great experience will definitely be back next year... or maybe more
I was in town for work. The food was ok at best. The servers were great and tried to make it better, but starting from the bread, it was bad. It tasted as if it were cooked in old oil, had a rancid oil smell. The escargot was weird and watery somehow. Then the entrees came and I had the ribeye, which wasn't a bad cut of meat, but it wasn't seasoned. I had peppercorn brandy sauce and a colleague had the demi-glace. Upon trying both it was the same sauce except one had peppercorns in it. The sides were also an issue, even the carrots were mushy. Wouldn't recommend it.
Be very careful of the old bartender. This rating is for the old bartender on the night of the 15th only. Read below for my review of the restaurant. So, I was at Melvins on the night of the 15th and ordered a whiskey and seltzer water. The bartender handed me the bill $20.34. I gave him $25.00 and he said Oh, Thanks he turned around and completely ignored me. I stood there for a minute. He knew I was looking at him and he NEVER GAVE ME MY CHANGE. Dear Sir, I really dont care about the $4 tip. You 're a thief. I know it 's been hard for the industry but you had no right to steal from me. Now the restaurant is a very cool and elegant place to go to. The atmosphere and ambiance is magnificent. You will enjoy it. Just keep an eye on the old guy at the bar.
Went on Christmas Eve for a set menu dinner with a few choices for the 4 courses. The person who confirmed the reservation said the price was $74 per person. When the bill came is was $94 per person. Not cool! Caesar salad was average. Scampi shrimp pasta dish had a few small canned cocktail shrimp. Definitely not scampi. The short rib was very good. Dessert toffee cake was dry. Nice ambiance. Very good service. Overpriced for the quality dishonest about the pricing. Won’t be returning. The dress code is a joke. People wearing shorts tee shirts in the dining room lounge. I emailed my concerns to the restaurant but they never responded. NOT RECOMMENDED
From the moment we arrived and the valet parking was $10.00, I knew it was going to be more pricey than expected. Even the bread was an extra charge. They weren 't exactly packed on a Friday evening before Season, but the waiter tried to hurry us to order by using the commonly used scenario we have 2 large parties of 10 and 12 coming in and if you don 't order soon it may take a long time, maybe as long as 45 minutes to an hour . I was shocked to hear this at a fine restaurant like Melvyn 's. There were 2 of us. We continued to take our time with cocktails and had a small order of oysters. Yes, they were small. Bottom line, the food was very good, the portions small except for the creamed spinach.
