Wilma Frieda's Cafe - Palm Desert

I went on a Sunday morning for brunch just a little FYI you can’t make reservations here so expect to wait an hour at least before getting a table . That gave me more then enough time to look at the menu and know what I wanted once my server came to my table ordered right away. The food was out in a decent amount time server was really nice and attentive. (Audrey I believe was her name I can’t remember) that’s my bad The bacon was to hard to chew presentation of plate could have been better as well. Food was over all 8 out of 10

Really good food! Wait wasn’t very long on a Wednesday am. Our server was great too. $78 for breakfast no alcohol drinks a little pricey!

Wilma Frieda’s Cafe is a wonderful, brunch spot located within the gardens at El Paseo. They are a family friendly restaurant with a menu that will not disappoint due to its wide range of breakfast and lunch items. We recommend arriving early as the restaurant often has a wait even at 9 AM on a weekday. The scrambled eggs, custard french toast, and short rib benedict were all delicious. The chai latte was also so flavorful. The only downside was the service. Our waiter was quite slow, forgot to bring two of our teas, and promised to turn on the heat lamp but never did even after we reminded him.

The food here was delicious. Their pork was amazing and I loved their banana french toast. Portions are pretty healthy. Their coffee was pretty burnt, though. Service was okay. I was charged for peanut butter that they did not bring to my table until I had already finished my meal. I do not believe that the food was priced reasonably. An $11 bowl of yogurt only confirmed my suspicion. I simply believe this quality of food or better could be had for about 25% less, and that makes it hard to justify a return visit.

I went in thinking this place looked very nice and I was excited because they had some gluten free options. I sat down and the staff was very attentive and the atmosphere was nice.. until I realized my server was very sick and not even wearing a mask. He would go into the other room to cough and blow his nose and from the sounds of it he didn't even wash his hands before returning to work!! I had already ordered before I realized this so I ended up asking for my meal to go. I also had to order my drink 3 times because they were out of every tea I ordered. I ended up with a hot breakfast tea -originally I wanted an iced Chai latte- and the server brought me the wrong milk for my tea. Anyway I ended up eating my food elsewhere and when I opened it up 1. There were no utensils, 2. The food was bland and almost tasteless, and 3. I'm pretty sure my pancakes I ordered were not gluten free... I also spent almost $40 for this meal!! I will not return.
