Tanpopo Japanese - Palm Desert

My husband and I were searching for a traditional Japanese restaurant and came across Tanpopo on Yelp, conveniently located near our resort. We're so glad we chose it! The food was excellent, and our server was such a delightful lady. My husband is quite the expert on Nabeyaki Udon, and he believes this restaurant serves some of the best. Definitely stop by for a wonderful meal!

Charming and cozy sushi spot. If you're after something upscale, this isn't the place for you. The food was tasty; I had the shrimp and vegetable tempura with teriyaki beef, which included rice and miso soup—plenty of food for just me. My partner ordered a California roll topped with baked scallops and a baked Philly roll. He thought they were decent but not特别 outstanding. The garlic mussels were nice as well.

I would consider this place the best in the Desert. The fish is fresh, the service is excellent, and the prices are reasonable. I enjoyed two masago rolls and salmon skin, which you can see in the photos.

Delicious fresh tasting food and reasonable pricing. Comfortable and homey environment. The place was empty when we went. Service may be slow on a busy night. Hope that all my future experiences are as good as this one. Definitely recommended!!!

The sushi here is excellent, and I really enjoy the calamari. The Boat offers a delightful selection.
