Schnitzelhaus - Palm Desert

Authentic kitchen with a lot. good German beer to the design.

What's good here? we didn't cost everything, but everyone we tried was great. very authentic Bavarian farewell as they advertise. for me they have the best goulash I've had for decades. my wife had the scavenger with mushroom sauce that she liked very much. her spaetzle is great. make sure it's a page on her teller. beyond eating, I like to go there, only for the unique selection of the German beer on the tap. the prices are not cheap, but the proportions are considerable. and the ambiente. it's okay, but don't expect this to be a fine culinary experience. that's not a ****, just an observation. it is quite small, so reserve it in advance.

6 of us had dinner at this wonderful restaurant last Tuesday and as usual we loved everything about it. This is the most authentic looking place and they have the most authentic German food I have had since returning from Germany some years ago now. The owner is from northern Germany and clearly knows how to satisfy those looking for great German food! I love going there and you will too! Suggest getting a reservation. Even on a weeknight the place was full all evening. That alone tells you how good the food is!!

Dinner at the Schnitzelhaus is always excellent. The owners are German and know how to prepare it. The decor is very Bavarian with Bavarian holiday clothes (Lederhosen and embroidered shirts and blouses), beer steins and signs. Tables are the heavy wood furnishings you might find in Munich or Fussen. The beers are mostly genuine German with many on tap. Wine list is a bit weak, but had good wines. Many menu items are really excellent, but I usually get one of the namesake Schnitzels. Pork is standard, but chicken and veal are available. I have not tried the veal, fearing that it is the flavorless and cruely raised American meat and not the proper European veal. The red cabbage is excellent as are the Spetzle and Bratkartoffeln. The place is small and reservations are strongly recommended.

The Schnitzelhaus lives up to its claim to provide great German food in a cozy Bavarian themed atmosphere. We enjoyed one of the delicious sounding array of schnitzel dishes. The menu has a host of German specialties which are sure to please as well as a good selection of German beers. There is an outdoor dining patio as well. The service is great and prices are reasonable. Recommended.
