During the reservation, we mentioned we aimed to have a full course dinner based on local fish, and asked whether it would be possible to have swordfish pasta. The personnel has been very helpful and transparent already at the first interactions but the true (positive surprise came with dinner time. The ingredients were not just fresh, but prime quality (those prawns, from Marsala or Mazzara my memory fails me, in crudité ...that octopus! and wisely treated to promote their properties. The pasta with sworfish was like a jump in my childhood memories... Highly recommended! Make sure to have a reservation, and don't waste the opportunity if you are in Palermo!
Salvatore Melia is a Palermo native that has lived in the USA . Him and his staff have been great hosts. I am Italian and I can vouch for the food quality and exceptional taste. I am a fan of risotto, and the fish risotto has been the best I have had so far, cooked well and with fresh ingredients. We finished our meal with an Almond Parfait made by Salvatore. A must try.
The restaurant is a terrace top with magnificent views of the city. We arrived an hour early for the booking so we could savour the views while having aperitivos and taking lots of pictures. The food was trying to be fine dining but didn't quite hit it and the service was adequate but not in keeping with what they were trying to achieve. In saying that they didn't charge fine dining prices and the wine choice was excellent but the setting and views....fantastic.
