We love to eat in small restaurants where they don't spend money for the appearance of the restaurant, but for the food. We loved every bite and the woman who helped us was really helpful. They did not speak English, but with pointing and talking we were able to understand each other. Good and cheap way to eat!
We were looking for real local food, but were not impressed by the typical restaurants so we decided to taste the cuisine of Oaxaca: what a great surprise. The Oaxaquena was one of the best food we had in Mexico, and still dreamed of my Chilalquile con frijoles!
Stopped for lunch while waiting for bus (station is conveniently just up the street). Mole negro with chicken was great, as was one of the soups. Attentive service, pleasant atmosphere. We didn't have much time, but the restaurant went out of its way to speed up our orders.
We went for a dish of chicken a tipical fried bananas with cheese. The products were fresh and tasty.
