Back home, there are plenty of vegan restaurants to choose from, but I can confidently say that if Branch Out were in my area, it would definitely be my favorite place to eat. I also highly recommend trying the quinoa nachos—they're absolutely delicious!
What a gem we discovered during our trip to the area! A vegan and gluten-free restaurant in Paducah—what a pleasant surprise! They had an incredible variety of options. We decided to try the honey chicken sandwich and the harvest bowl, and we also ordered a quinoa taco. Everything was absolutely delicious! We even treated ourselves to s'mores and pumpkin cupcakes, which were delightful! I truly wish we could visit again! The staff greeted us warmly and shared their favorite dishes, making us feel right at home. There was also a lovely outdoor seating area. Service: Dine-in.
Dine-in Experience Meal Type: Dinner Food Rating: 5/5 Service Rating: 5/5 I had a fantastic dinner at this restaurant! The food was exceptional, earning a perfect score of 5. Every dish was delicious and beautifully presented. The service was equally impressive, also receiving a top rating of 5. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed for a wonderful evening. I highly recommend this place for a delightful dining experience!
However, I feel compelled to share my thoughts on the tonkatsu curry I ordered. Although I make tonkatsu at home occasionally, I wasn’t expecting it to taste the same, yet I found the dish lacking. I'm not a vegan or vegetarian, and I thought the panko-coated pork cutlet was well-prepared, along with the rice. Unfortunately, the curry itself had an odd sour note that I couldn’t quite understand. I’m not sure if this was a deliberate choice, but I did not enjoy it at all. It seemed like the same curry was used for the curry fries, which had a strange smell and taste, considering that Japanese curry is typically quite straightforward. The pickled cabbage was also disappointing; it tasted as if it had been parboiled, cooled, and then simply sprinkled with lemon juice. This could be a matter of personal preference, but I found it inedible. As for the fries, I was puzzled by the combination of curry, mayonnaise, and nori on French fries. While the idea sounds fun, the execution fell short. The mayo and nori flavor, though familiar, became overwhelming when paired with the fries. If the intent was to utilize the curry roux effectively, I think curried lentils could be a great alternative, perhaps served with pita bread. Overall, I believe the main menu items might be much better. It was a unique experience to try tonkatsu curry from a restaurant like this, but unfortunately, it didn’t resonate with me. I’ll probably choose something else next time I visit.
The food is delicious, with a wide variety on the menu. The service is excellent, and they offer complimentary water and unsweetened tea. The atmosphere is pleasant, featuring creative decorations and spacious seating. The only downside is the price; while it’s a fantastic healthy option, it's more suitable for a visit once or twice a quarter.
