TGIF! Lunch with colleagues. We agreed to eat in an Indian restaurant. The following are my comments: The ambience was good, it was not crowded, well lighted but I think the ambience is better during dinner time and done at the terrace. I opted for Vegetable Haryani, a vegetarian meal. (Missed to take a photo) It only took few mins before the food was served which was placed in a metal/silver plate, saucy, colored green with bits and pieces of unidentifiable vegetables. The taste was to my liking, hot/spicy, stomach was rumbling! Need to eat more delicious Biryani & drink more water. A perfect combination. It was a light but hearty meal, coz spicy foods make me happy! ???? An area for improvement: the food server needs training and proper hygiene! He cannot discussed the menu nor can make suggestions. The gross part, an annoying smell was emanating from his mouth every time he spoke, making my head ache... Will eat in a different New Bombay branch.
Actual basmati rice! if anyone is curious what it taste/look like go here or see their website or pictures, there's lots-longest rice I've ever seen-it's firmer than plain white rice, not sticky, somewhat has dry texture of 2hrs old white rice but slides easily. Not heavy but filling, like the not-heavy-but-filling-ness of japanese rice even if you eat lots. -(my mother said it looked like maggots, well they're very yummy maggots mom.) Fish biryani, mild spice-for 2-3pax-comes with pesto-like spinash (high in garlic and something like wasabe) olive oil? sauce and cayenne+sweet pepper+spices red sauce. -Fish is under the rice, about 1 cup in fillet cubes,(can't know what specie but its big enough for 1" cubes), moist, tender, spices well absorbed and goes well with the firmness and texture of rice. -Biryani taste highly of turmeric, saffron, cumin, and butter, maybe a bit of star anise(for a phantom sweetness I can't identify that's not from onion), bit of hot chili powder, indian garlic powder(not mccormick) note: they'll ask how spicy you want it Cheese naan : compared to Breadtalk's cheese naan -less glutinous; tender-chewy, not bubblegum chewy -drier and has outside powder usually seen in pita breads -thinner/flatter and smaller in volume -gets cold fast, they put it in foil for take out -different cheese(cow cheese, more herbed, taste a bit like parmesan and cheddar, not kraft/eden/magnolia) Vegetable samosa- 1 order 2 pcs, fist size but filling -also comes with the 2 sauces-curry, big peanuts, carrots, potatoes, ... -spicy but not hot, warm and savory and cravable. -filling doesn't topple over when biting-warning very oily, it soaked through 4 paper bags double folded -Intricately designed dark wood tables, chairs(not cushioned),and wall arts that changes the atmosphere-open/no-door entrance, not even glass wall, not even a fence-no music here so expect that whatever noise the mall is playing you'd hear it too, not for peaceful dining-Its by the glass front of robinsons so it has outside tables for smokers -does not have the heavy'amoy bumbai' smell -seats arranged by 2s and 4s,furniture's a bit heavy and wide; there's little space to rearrange about -very few customers at lunch hour -iced water taste like tap-waitresses bored and chatting audibly -at first I thought it's so expensive but for real basmati rice, order size good for 2,and complicated authentic spice mix, it's reasonable prices -additional charge for take out container Don't know why their website doesn't have the ermita robinson's branch.
Hi bomby i m jasee rawat so i need a job in ur hotel i m currntly work in dilhi ncr an indian and tandoor food i m job in indian curry dipartmant, and my total expiriance is 8 year so plz snd me any msz...........
Their Naan is really good, cheesy and coconut-y. The Tandoori chicken is really spicy, and perfect for consumption. Not to share with your wimpy friends. The chicken curry has a lot of oil. A lot. A LOT. But it is really, really tasty and herb-y and spice-y and just delicious. Some of the servers seem friendly, the service is really fast, and the interiors are good. However, it is relatively expensive, (I usually spend 500 pesos) which is a lot for lunch.
