Excellent mini quiches! I brought them home for the family, and they were a big hit every time.
If you're in search of quiche, this place offers the best! I've bought them a few times for my family, and they never disappoint. They're fresh, easy to reheat, and absolutely delicious. I highly recommend them!
This bakery has been on the hill in the pacific grove since mid-1990s. the bakery is decorated like a small Swiss company and not like the owners French inherit. the customer service is hit or measures, depending on who serves it and can be slow. the cakes are beautiful, but they are overly sweet. not like cakes from Europe. this bakery only accepts cash, but they have a cash machine if more money is needed. this bakery is nothing special or extra ordinary and I think it is best in average.
The apricot-coy aman was very tasty, it had almost a custard brot pudding like texture with apricot jam in the middle with a gooey carmelized floor, very generously dimensioned, definitiw something that they want to share between two people with coffee. I had this before and it did not come close, it was really the outstanding item in our breakfast. everything they would imagine christmas morning morning would be based at least on our family tradition. they only make it on Saturday. we arrived right when they opened up so they were very fresh. my grandfather, who came from German Swiss immigrants, would have loved this, he would make an American version of her pecan snails he learned to bake from his mother. when I asked what she really known for I was told that it was her pagan muffins, I did not try to find the, because perhaps this is not such a unique thing to have in a vacation where they really hope to find something they do not find home, was the definitiw it! I really recommend to visit them on a Saturday and give them an attempt to think very challenging version of a sticky bungalow. the ham and cheese croissant had extremely tasty cheese. I highly recommend not to ask if it is heated as it returns the croissant to a drying texture on the inside. Unfortunately there was not much of a selection at 7am just a few pills of muffins and croissants and some nice party cakes on our first visit, the pastry case was not full as they see in some of the review photos, but on our last visit it was very full including quiche this time! the espresso was quite good, I guess that it actually used a thermometer to avoid that the milk of the decaf was not as good as the full caf. all employees wore masks, very professional, but not super friendly, but perfunctory on our second visit everyone was extremely friendly; the chef was friendly enough to talk to me a little; the interior dining room was very charming, the decor was filled with beautiful vintage children illustrations from holland. this caffe has a very vintage feeling that it feels like they are back in solvang . that is by far the best bakery on the whole half island monterey!
