El Compadre - OYSTER BAY

I saw this Restaurant on face book. It had family combos takeout for$29.95 that would feed 4 people and $49.95 that would feed from 6-8 people. I ordered sausage, meatballs, pasta and salad for $29.95. Another dish of crispy chicken cutlets, pasta and salad. for $29.95 .I also ordered Chicken parmigiana, pasta and salad for $49,95. All the food was excellent and plenty for the 11 of us . We have enough food left over for two more meals. I will go back to this restaurant again again.

Was glad to hear the Café al Dente reopened up in Oyster Bay. The former establishment on Spring Street was very good. Unfortunately, this new one is not up to the former. Service was adequate at best and the food so-so. The polenta appetizer was over-fried and very dry. Salads were better, but the main courses disappointed. The Pork Marsala for example had no hit of marsala wine and was made using canned mushrooms. Yuck. Chicken Picata was bland. Won't be back.

Pasta very good with the cesar salad. Affordable but great quality . Definitely recommend this place.

We recently tried this place, and it's become the gem of Oyster Bay for us. I have been here four times with both the family and friends, and every time the food was great, and the prices very reasonable. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.
