La Dolce Vita - Oxnard

At first, they don't come here unless they can comfortably handle lots of stairs. second, the signage is unclear, so they go down for the bar, but for the restaurant. the service we had was terrible and by someone who really shouldn't be a waiter. he thought red paprika would be squash; I'm not doing this. the ambiente is adorable, that I will give them, but there was also a bizarre singer. as far as eating is concerned, it was hard, but that was it. the pasta was cooked properly as well as the chicken, but nothing was spiced and overall the dish had no taste. I honestly never served Italian food without offering fresh parmesan. and the chicken piccata had almost no lemon taste with no fresh lemon on the side provided and no corpse?! that should be an Italian restaurant, but it is really just an American restaurant that pretends to be an Italian restaurant. if they can cope with a lot of stairs and not extreme as well as ineffective service, but enjoy bland food and lovely ambiente as this place is for them.

Wanted to go quiet for our jubilee somewhere, so we chose la dolce vita. we've been here a few times. the location, in a Victorian house, is so original. we always had a great meal here. the server was very attentive, but not pushy. that was delicious.

I wish I could leave a pre-revision for la dolce vita, but unfortunately I can't. both my man and my mother ordered the chicken marsala. my man and my mother had to salt her dish because it was so dirty. my man is a cook that often makes chicken marsala and he said that the texture of the chicken was as if it had been cooked on the day before. he also said that there is absolutely no marsala wine taste in the plate. the brot was dry. I loved the ambiente and wished that it could have been eating, but it was just not good.

Beautiful opposite in the historic side of oxnard, quiet and cozy with excellent customer service. would definitely recommend friends and will definitely come back!

Bar and restaurant are separate and inconsistent with restaurant. Artichoke appetizer was grilled and frozen in the middle. Portobello mushroom entree was just awful.
