Zack's Grille - Oxford

I had a late lunch at Zack today. The service was great and fast; the food was great. Definitely up there with the best burgers I've ever had. You get more pommes than you can eat; it's just a great place! He hopes they will start for dinner!

My husband and I went for lunch today. So clean, so good, so sweet people. Our onion rings came a little over boiled. We didn't say anything, and the man who cooked us brought us a fresh batch and apologized for the first batch. Service was amazing and the taste of our burgers were so great! Oxford needed an affordable Burger-Gleich that was not fast food. Only Downer is that it is open only until 3:00 and closed on Sundays so that we can only go Saturdays. I can't say enough good things!

I went for lunch with a family group, the day after Thanksgiving. Expectations were not high....but it turns out that Zacks is fantastic. It is a local, family-run café. Motivated, friendly staff. Very limited Burger style menu, but what they have, they add their own special flair. You can have the best onion rings on the planet. Thin string style with flocky, peppery bread. My BLT was Spot-on, the burgers were classic, perfectly cooked/seasonal. A proposal for improvement would be to offer pints of local brews. A Rye IPA from Cheaha Brewing would be a perfect match with my BLT and rings. A member of our group asked if they could make the special roasted shrimp that they only serve on Friday Saturday night, they were happy to commit. And they were good. Prices were very low in view of the high quality of ingredients. These people deserve every penny. Interesting decorative elements include a collection of band/concert photos and signed guitars from several legends. Rock on Zach's. Your column of the Oxford community.

I'm so glad to finally see a Mom-Pop-Burger connection in Oxford! The burgers are made fresh and cooked to order. I ordered the regular cheeseburger with my favorite toppings and it was almost more than I could eat...ALMOST! LOL The frits are fresh cut shoes, and while they were really good, both times I visited were my only lukewarm and could have been cooked a little longer. My husband ordered the double cheeseburger with onion rings, he said his burger was fabulous, but he really didn't know what to think about the onion rings. While I saw postings on Facebook from people who rasen over the onion rings, my husband got extremely thin cut (about 1/16 inch) onion strings. It was certainly not what he expected for an onion ring; and he found them hard to eat. The restaurant is very clean with very nice and interesting decor and great music in the background. A few of the girls who take orders and run the checkout have a bit of a setting problem, but once your order is placed your food is freshly cooked and you get it pretty fast. I would like to see this restaurant extend its hours to stay open during the evenings. Great, GREAT burger, but I give only 4 stars, because my frits are not hot and have to be boiled a little longer, and for the onion pieces instead of onion rings my husband received.

Being dead serious here, I have seen this place passing it by everyday when going to work and home. I went in, loved all the guitars and posters on the wall.. I wasn’t expecting much. It had a local feel to it.. even from the outside. I like supporting local business, so I went in. Just got home, just finished my double cheese burger.. and I must say. This place is an absolute hidden Jewel. I was absolutely delighted at how well the food was seasoned. I was absolutely delighted on the texture on the beef of the burger and the flavor is all there. I’m honestly shocked that Wendy’s gets any kind of business with this place open. I CANNOT RECCOMEND THIS PLACE ENOUGH. I made a promise to the two guys who took my order and made it.. if it tastes good I would be back. They just made a regular out of me. Seriously. 10/10 never going to McDonald’s or Burger King as long as I’m in oxford. I’ve not had onion rings quite like the ones they severed in a super long time.. and I’m absolutely loving every single bite.
