We used our key and entered a room already occupied. We then remembered we booked the cottage. We locked the bedroom door and went to our cottage. Surprised our key allowed us to enter someone else’s room! The cottage smelled like a wet old dog. We were supplied with no hand towels and bars of soap. The Keurig machine had a dead bug floating in the water reservoir. Major upgrades are needed!!
Beautiful location in the quaint town of Oxford. Small, but enticing menu. Limited vegetarian options.
This review is for the inn not the tavern. My husband and I stayed a night in a cozy room and let’s just say that it felt like we were transported to the 1800s. The room had the bare essentials but nothing more. It was the most uncomfortable 3 star hotel I’ve ever stayed at and let me just list a few things so that management may consider for future guests. It seems they focus more on their restaurant than their inn. 1. Consider the modern human being and add hand towel rods, towel hooks in the bathroom for convenience. We had one extra hook on the top of the 6 foot door and that was it. 2. The cozy rooms feels about 100 sq feet and there is a window AC. The window AC is an old model so it doesn’t detect room temperature so it blew on me the entire night. I was so worried i would get sick but hated that i was sweating for half the night that I barely slept. 3. Bathroom door squeaks, spray some WD 40 on the hinges. 4. We killed 4 small moths in our room. I’m not sure if that means the room is dusty and needs more thorough upkeep. 5. The closet needs more than two mismatching hangers. 6. Add a fitted sheet to cover the mattress, the flat sheet pulls up quite easily. Atleast the bed wasn’t squeaky perhaps the only good thing. 7. WiFi barely works and stopped at 11:30pm. We thought we used up the hotels bandwidth or maybe we were at the back so the signal was poor. The streets are dark outside after sunset and there is no TV at the inn so better internet would be nice. Conclusion A quaint, quiet and historic stay with the bare essentials that does not include the expected modern conveniences for the 21st century human to be a 3 star hotel
I come to the Robert Morris Inn to decompress from my stressful life. I am not looking for amazing service or luxurious rooms, all I value is the peacefulness of the location and a great tavern with delicious food in a friendly atmosphere.
We have been to Oxford about seven times, and we have always eaten at the robert Morris Inn for either breakfast or dinner. First time there since they sold in november, and the food was pretty good. Husband had the RMI breakfast, and I had the eggs benedict, both with crispy hash browns. The only suggestion I have is to add seaso alll or some flavoring to the hash browns. Even though they were very crispy and somewhat tasty, i think they would have been even tastier with a little seasoning.
