Charm Thai - Upper Coomera - Oxenford

The lovely lady at reception really has her work cut out for her. Typical run down Thai restaurant with no option to alter meals or cater for vegetarians. Extremely disappointed and frustrated with the whole ordeal. Tacky furnishings, no ambiance BYO is a bonus however due to current operations won’t recommend or return. Much better places locally to dine.

We visit this restaurant every couple of months, it’s a favourite. Cuisine is authentic Thai. Prices are very good, food is delicious. Atmosphere is rustic, decorated tastefully with artificial plants.

We had a massive drive down to the gold coast hinterland and were looking for a quick takeaway dinner. Tired and starving we came across Charm and ordered a couple of pad thais, one chicken one prawn and some vegetable rice. It was very busy and we were given a half hour wait. It was almost an hour before our food came but they were apologetic and gave us some free drinks and some crackers with a peanut sauce. We got back to our accommodation and tucked in. The food was sensational. Beautiful flavours and very generous with lots of plump juicy prawns. Very good pricing . We couldn't manage the rice too so warmed it up the next day. Cant recommend this place highly enough . Well worth the wait and understand now why they were so busy.

We called up to order takeaway and were told there was a 70min wait. We decided to go ahead as we were eager to try another Thai Shop in the area. Lucky for us it was worth the wait. The food was delicious. Would definitely order again.

I have to say you must go. We had a table of 20 and the service was great the moment we walked in happy efficient staff. A corkage of $1.50pp was fine and a small price to pay for a takeaway container if you cannot eat the large meals given to you. I had the green curry which was amazing and there were no complaints with our group for any of the meals handed out. We hung back after everyone had left being and were not hurried at all to leave. I am definitely going back and recommend anyone to give it a go if you love Thai.
