I almost hate to review Romero's, it’s tucked in behind another business in Owings Mills and I didn’t even know it was there until a co-worker asked if I had tried it. My wife I love Latin food, and have found many little Mom Pop shops all over town. Romero's is an Oasis; the main compliment of their menu is Salvadoran... There really is not table service, the menu is on the wall and you can order by number, or by pointing (really) the counter girl was pleasant, but not very proficient in English, and all I know in Spanish is how to order a beer, and find the men's room...But we managed. To start we split Papusas stuffed with cheese. Then for our dinner I ordered Empanadas which are fried turnovers stuffed with chicken, with a side of a wonderful marinated cabbage called Curtido. My wife ordered the Carne Asada which is marinated beef (fork tender) and came with homemade tortillas, rice and black beans. The food was world class, flavorful, tender, spicy, and portions were very generous. The best part besides the food was the cost. We walked out full and happy, with beverage and tip the meal was under $30.00. They also have a small grocery store next door, with all kinds of Latin goodies...We have been back for carry-out several time since our first visit and have tried just about everything on the wall...Haven’t had a bad meal yet
The food is delicious and the customer service. i also enjoy shopping in the convenience store and bakery. It's a small grocery/convenience store, bakery, restaurant all in one.
