Kernel Restaurant - Owatonna

Real deal of classic diners. Coffee was just right, eggs (over easy) and hash brews were perfectly cooked and so my chicken was fried steak. The waitress quickly became polite and checked me several times, although the restaurant was busy. I was waiting for a windshield to be replaced next door and they said I could stay as long as I wanted. I can't recommend this place enough.

I don't know he's called, but she's a very big blond waitress who knew her job well. She organized a table for a family of 5 fast. Very friendly and polite. She met all are needs and very satisfied.

Sheila am Kernel is one of the most friendly people I've ever been interacting with. My grandparents were long-term residents of Owatonna and loved The Kernel. They died a few months. I heard for lunch Shelia reminded me of my grandparents and even remembered the grandmother's favorite cake. It meant the world.

Good food at very reasonable prices. Friendly service. Travel to Mankato for three years if we had discovered before. Hash Browns are beautiful and crispy.

Took gf's grandma out for 96th birthday dinner, the Kernel is her favorite place. Even with alzheimers and dementia, the Kernel restaurant stays a stable memory. It was my parents' favorite place to go and eat.
