The variety of wines is impressive, and the prices are very reasonable, but the inattentive service left a lot to be desired.
This winery offers a stunning view of Cayuga Lake and is family-owned, producing some truly delightful wines. I particularly enjoyed the Vidal Blanc and Chardonnay. The food was delicious and the service was exceptional. We arrived by boat and were warmly welcomed, receiving a convenient ride to the vineyard. Unfortunately, our daughter felt seasick, but the staff went above and beyond to ensure she received medicine from their first aid kit. Since she wasn't feeling well enough to boat back and Uber rides were unreliable, the owner generously drove us back to our rented lake house, which was about a 25-minute trip. He refused to accept any payment for his kindness. This winery exemplifies not only great wine but also outstanding customer service. I wouldn't hesitate to return. Thank you for a wonderful experience! Janine Fox
I encountered the rudest woman at this restaurant that I've ever met anywhere. I asked her if they had any snacks and mentioned that although it was Wednesday, offering a cheese plate or snack bags of chips would be nice. After that, I went to the bar area to grab a glass to drink from. She approached me, handed me the glass, but held onto it for an extra moment before snorting and then followed me to my table where my 85-year-old mother and wife were sitting. She loudly proclaimed that if she couldn't improve my experience, perhaps I should just leave! This was beyond outrageous— all I did was offer a constructive suggestion that could enhance the customer experience and potentially increase their profits. I strongly recommend skipping this place altogether. The attitude was terrible. Having worked in the food service industry myself, I always appreciated receiving tips from customers and even encouraged my employees to solicit feedback. What a disappointing experience!
I wish I could give this place a zero star rating. We were greeted by a snotty teenage boy who kicked us out of a parking spot so that he could park his Kubota. Nothing like putting your customers first. Then we were told that if we couldn't find a table on the lawn we'd have to leave. Ok, another rude employee. Whatever. But there were some tables on the lawn so we bought a few bottles of wine and enjoyed some conversation with our group. Then, yet another rude employee came up and said that they needed the table we were sitting at for their bistro patrons. There were four other empty tables that they could've used. When we pointed that out, the rude employee said that other patrons were saying we were complaining about their pricing. Uhhh no. We happened to be talking about the expensive price of travel right now. Don't flatter yourselves. Save your time and don't ever stop at this ridiculously snotty winery. I've never felt so unwelcomed at a place that I've spent a decent amount of money at in my life. Insanity.
We had a wonderful experience at the wine tasting. $5 to try 5 wines, which is the best deal I've had in the area or at any winery I've ever been to tbh. Our server was lovely and the scenery was stunning. Can't wait to go back next time we're upstate!
