Dragon Inn - Overland Park

The food was fantastic and the service was outstanding. My wife and I have been visiting Dragon Inn for years, and I consider it the best Chinese restaurant in the city!

The restaurant operates from Monday to Wednesday and Sunday, from 11 AM to 8:30 PM, and is closed on Tuesdays. On Christmas Eve 2023, it will be open from 11 AM to 8:30 PM but will close on Christmas Day. It will also be open on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day 2024 during the same hours. DRAGON INN serves delicious, freshly prepared dishes that are sure to please. The staff is friendly, and the gracious owner is often on hand to welcome customers. I personally enjoyed the Chicken Egg Foo Yung, which was absolutely delicious. The restaurant is well-lit, very clean, and offers ample seating, although it is not accessible for individuals with disabilities or those using wheelchairs, and there is limited parking available. However, the service was a major letdown. It was truly awful. I was asked for my order before I had even settled at my table, and then the waiter kept coming back every few minutes to ask again. Seriously, relax—it's not like the restaurant had been open long, and they weren't closing for another 10 hours! After just five minutes of being served, the waiter dropped the check on my hand and then carelessly tossed takeout boxes onto our plates while we were still eating. I was quite frustrated. I would have addressed my concerns with a more friendly waiter—who may have been the manager—but I was with a client. Still, the food itself was enjoyable.

My favorite Chinese restaurant in KC! Food, service and atmosphere are all wonderful!

If you've grown up on the heart of Kansas City, then this food is average. Nothing here was very good, including the waitor who seemed upset to even be there.
