Casa Italia Pizzeria - Ovar

I had been there before for pizza (take away) and the pizzas were fantastic. This time we went for a nice sunset at Praia de Cortegaça and a great sea food meal with a view to the ocean at this great restaurant, and it was worth it. The sea-bass (robalo) from the Portuguese coast was superb and a grilled octopus was great. We were advised for a very good wine as well. The service is very efficient and friendly, great staff waiting and cooking. The entire team was excellent on taking good care of customers and making us feel welcome. The hospitality of the owner, Mr. Mario is superb making customers feel like at home or with family. Definitely i'll become a regular, on a region with great restaurants, this one stands out for the food quality, staff efficiency and owner's hospitality.

I did not like the food. The gnocchi were right from the package, completely drown in cream, with some frozen spinach mixed. The pizza was acceptable but still totally mediocre. Also expensive considering what you get.

The place is beautiful near the beach. The people are very nice. I had a pizza and it was very good and i am Italian btw. A friend had a Portuguese dish and it was good too. I want to go back there to try their pasta.

A lot of things can be said about the place but the 2 most important are: the empathy and excellent service provided by the owner and the very italian like food. The owner is Italian and so pasta does not come swimming in the sauce. Very good and clean flavours. Pizza also good. They even have some typical Portuguese dishes. Location is gr8. If you get a place by the window you'll have the best of both worlds. Food and location. If you're passing by or vacationing near by do try eating there
