Miraculously, they survived the journey without getting crushed! The croissants, in particular, held up remarkably well. They are incredibly buttery and a quick minute in a hot toaster brings out their wonderful aroma. They are shiny, light, and absolutely delicious. Every pastry I brought back met my expectations perfectly. They were worth every penny and every bit of effort it took to transport that wonderful box of pastries, even in an economy seat. When you're in Montreal, make sure to treat yourself to one or more of Lescurier's bakeries. I can't recommend it highly enough!
Several times I was unable to pay with cash because they didn’t have enough change, and they refused credit card payments for amounts below a certain threshold. I can understand if it happens occasionally, but if it's a regular issue, it feels intentional! (They could follow the example of many other businesses and eliminate minimum payment restrictions.) On a positive note, the baguettes, croissants, pastries, and tarts are quite good.
The baked goods are excellent, but the service, quiches, and other lunch options are below average.
To make one of the best baguettes of the city. I still have to try their homemade sandwiches.
Go here, you'll be happy! I reached out to Alex for a very perticular special request and asked it to be delivered in a very short timeline. Alex's answer: yes I can do that. It was ready on time, it was delicious, and I was served with a great smile.Their baguettes is also very good. Marzipan also top notch. It's not cheap... But it's not meant to be as it is high quality products.Highly recommended.
