Vera's Burger Shack - Ottawa

My 1st time eating at Vera's Burger Shack was a "where have you been all my life?" and how did I not know about this place kind of moment? Our son mentioned it to us as he has bought Meat on the Butcher side of this place called "The Butchery" Upon entering you enter using either the left side (Vera's Burger Shack) or right side entering the Butchery section. Once inside you can go from Vera side to the Butchery side as it is all open concept. Simple tables but clean, good decor, comfortable relaxed atmosphere. When you approach the ordering counter of Vera Burger you will take an order form selecting what you would like indicating your 1st name for when they call your name out to pick up at the counter. You pay as soon as you place your order with the person behind the order counter. You then simply select a place to sit and wait to hear your name being called. Now for the best part..sooo delicious, mouth watering and cooked to perfection. I suggest that if you prefer your meat "well done" that you indicate this on your order form otherwise your meat will have some pink in it making it even more juicy and flavourable!. The order form is a white piece of paper located on the ordering counter where the cash register is. I have been back with my husband/family half a dozen times now since before Xmas. Their basket of fries are delicious as well They have a nice variety on their menu. I suggest you try something different every time you go..You will not be dissapointed! Waiting time can be a little longer than maybe a Mcdonalds or Wendy's but well worth the wait!

Had a great burger and fries, neat setup its a combo burger-shack/butchers-shop/Deli they had Monte Carlo potatoes and ribs that looked delicious, making myself hungry writing this :-) would definitely recommend for lunch; were going to try the dinner menu in the next couple of weeks

We have been here many times over the past year or so and we always have the rib steak dinner for 2. What a great deal a 24 ounce rib steak, fries, cole slaw and pickles to share and all you can drink fountain soft drink. The steak as always was fabulous, the best in town. Too bad the decor is only so so but what can you expect for a restaurant in a butcher shop and too bad that they don't serve wine. Deaspite other comments we have found that the service is fast and very good.

The burgers were tasty and the sweet potatoes were fabulous! The veggie burger was one of the best I have tasted. OMG the shakes are super thick and mouth watering!

What a great place for the best hamburger in the city. Pure meat of the highest quality. Nice atmosphere and nice service. Go enjoy?
