So, some chums and I sauntered over to the Sul Posto restaurent and wine bar located at the Ottawa Train Statoin. We each ordered the fried egg sandwich; a true culinary delight. Great bacon placement, a well cooked egg (slightly runny), beautiful golden brown toast (perfectly toasted), nice fresh tomato and lettuce with just the right amount of cheese. They even cut it on the diagonal which is my overall sandwich cutting preference. Well done Sul Posto!!
Picked up a coffee before I caught my train. Tasted good and fresh, and set me back about 2 dollars. Friendly staff. Looked as if there was a good assortment of sandwiches, and they looked pretty good.
All in all this "restaurant" has changed, the counter and fridge where almost empty and the food is not as good quality as it use to be. I have eaten here many times before. The breakfast was good for the price. However it has completely changed this year, I think the management is different. Today I wanted to order the 2 eggs and bacon with drink for 6.99$ but the lady tried to charge me over 9$. She said the prices had changed. I asked her if she will change the prices on the board, she said "I won't change it but my manager will" They should have a temporary sign for the new prices no? Also the frying machine wasn't hot yet to cook the potatoes so they told me it may take a few minutes and that they would bring it to me. That wasn't a problem since I had 40min to wait. After 20 or so minutes of waiting I stood up to see if my order was ready... They had already served 3 people before me even tough I was the first. Also the plate they brought me had no potatoes! She had to take it back and put them in. The eggs were broken and had a slice of melted cheese on top, never had that before plus they didint ask if I wanted cheese. I am lactose intolerant so I had to scrape the cheese off. I ended up only having about 5 mins to try and eat this awful meal before I had to get in the train. On a plus side the 2 ladies were nice and I think one of them was in training.
I was travelling to Montreal on July 10, 2015. I went to the restaurant to grab coffee around 9am and I witnessed the laziest behaviour by any restaurant employee ever. The lady in front of me ordered a sandwich. When she enquired if she could have some salt she was sent to a corner to look for salt herself. And when she could not find salt the girl at the counter informed her that they don't have salt in their restaurant.Following that I saw the girl at the counter shouting at another passenger because she has to yell twice before the lady came to pick her breakfast order.I was told they don't make cappuccinos despite the restaurant wall advertising that they serve cappuccino. So I asked my wife to go and check if the counter girl was just being lazy or they really don't serve cappuccinos. And guess what my wife got cappuccinos straight away after showing her what's written on the wall. When my wife asked why I was told that they don't serve cappuccinos, she lied and said that another new staff must have got it wrong. Then the lids did not fit any of the coffee containers and a lady spilled hot coffee on her dress. This place needs better staff with proper etiquette and efficiency.
