I was disappointed that the plantains were cut so thin that is was like I was eating potato chips. The server has an excellent knowledge of the menu. I can’t I understand why they sat another table right next to mine when the restaurant was empty.
I love the atmosphere it is so beautiful and peaceful and such a beautiful place
I dined here for lunch a few weeks ago. When discussing the menu, the server (who also owns the restaurant) told me the plantain sandwich was gluten free. When it arrived, I noted that the plantains were fired and asked if they had been in the fryer. When asked if gluten ingredients go in the fryer, he said yes. That, by definition, means that the meal isn't gluten free. he then made a big deal over me not confirming that I have celiac disease (which I only did on receiving the fried food). In my opinion, if you serve food, you shouldn't claim something is gluten free unless it truly is regardless of what the customer has offered up. I wouldn't be so bothered except the EXACT same thing happened to me at the owner's other restaurant SOCA only a few months ago. (I didn't realize it was the same place when I booked).
Great place. Awesome staff! Food, too expensive. Plantain-based dishes are super cheap to make and pricing them at 20+ dollars is ridiculous.
Good spot for a fast, rather less common menu (which is refreshing). Good, quiet atmosphere yet you felt as though you had sufficient background noise to keep conversations private.
