Morning Owl Kanata - Ottawa

Best place for any espresso drinks in kanata/stittsville. Breakfast/brunch is great Too! Lots of seating available and to go food if you're in a rush.

I have been to the Morning Owl many times since they opened. It is hit and miss with the food/coffee/service. I am not sure that the people who work there have been properly trained. Staff come and go. Some great and others. The potential is there if the owners were on site and took an interest in the daily running. People will only give it 1 or 2 tries before not going back and word of mouth will put the final nail in the.......Live music is great but too loud. Bartender could not be qualified as the mixed drinks were terrible.

Kanata Lakes has been in dire need of different coffee shop that is unique and not a starbucks like the one in the chapters or canadian tire gas station. I was excited to check the Morning Owl out today with high hopes but unfortunately I left after waiting in line for 15 minutes in what should have taken about 2 minutes considering there was only 2 people in front of me. I was going for lunch and to try the coffee and I didn't really mind the waiting and it's not the reason I left. While waiting I read the menu and it said fresh daily rotating salads but when i looked at the 2 salads that were in the glass window , they looked anything but fresh and the sandwich's did not look great either. At the front entrance there is a strange dusty contraption that also has chips and other snacks in it but when something containing food looks dusty and dirty you kind of loose your appetite in a hurry . In fact the longer I waited in line the more I noticed that the whole place is kind of dirty and messy. The 2 guys working didn't really know what they were doing which was leading to the long wait and the whole place in general just seems unsanitary. First impressions are big and from the outside the Morning Owl looks great and I was really hoping the place would be awesome but unfortunately I don't think the Owl will be in business for long .

Great food, good coffee and live music! Zachary Martin was playing the day we dropped in. This new coffee shop was better than we expected for a suburb location. Service was pleasant and ambiance clean and inviting.
