Montanas - Ottawa

In the last weekWe were visiting our son in Ottawa and took him to Montana's for his 40th birthday. We arrived about 8pm and the restaurant was about 15% occupied on this Thursday evening. We waited at the front reception area for at least 10 minutes until a young gentlemen came by. He never greeted us, just took 4 menus and brought us to a table. He dropped our cutlery on the table and actually tossed the menus onto the table. Never told us who our wait staff would be, just walked away. We sat there for another 20 minutes but no one came to our table. At one point, a young lady went to a table not far from ours and asked the people if they wanted another drink and left never looking at us. We waited another 5 minutes anticipating that she would return but that never happened. We got up and left. We went a few blocks down to Boston Pizza where the service was prompt, friendly and the food was excellent. We spent 189.00 at BP that evening that was intended for Montana's. My advice to you, don't waste your time at Montana's. Spend your money where you are appreciated as a customer.

We went for dinner to celebrate my son's birthday, it wasn't too busy so we didn't wait too long to be seated, attention was good, asked for them to change the paper on the table because it had a stain of something on it and they did without any problems, the waitress was courteous, food was good too, good flavors and right temperature, I recommend it

We went for supper and the food was much better than the last time we were there which was about 2 years ago. Both of our steak were cooked the way we asked for them to be cooked and the food was hot when served. The waitress was very friendly and helpful. The cookie with ice cream dessert was pretty good.

We decided on a quick late dinner, and chose Montana's. I had the ribs, and others had a burger and a chicken dish. We were all pleased with out meal. We each had a beverage, and the bill came to about $130 with the tip. Noted that the debit machine calculates the % of the tip was based on the whole price including taxes, not one what you spent on food only, so you are tipping on 15% tax, just keep a note to yourself.
