You can instantly tell when it's freshly made and melts in your mouth, the flavours are perfectly combined... it was darn good. We went for lunch where they either offer simple combos, but we opted to do the lunch a la carte. It was a bit more than I like to spend on sushi, but it was fully worth it. We had an excellent combination of maki rolls and were not disappointed. We did not have any sashimi. We did have the ice cream mochi which was delightful and a great way to finish off the meal. Service was good and mostly attentive. There is not much in terms of seating, but it was still a nice ambiance, not over-done, which I appreciate.Great place for nice dates or business meetings for sure. My business partner and I left with happy tummies! Would highly recommend!
Cosy, petit, sympa et surtout excellents sushis de quartier . Le service est rapide et le poisson toujours de qualité .
My wife and daughter took me out for a birthday sushi meal. We've been a few times before and really like the quality, but have found the service to be casual bordering on apathetic. We were the only people in the restaurant, but the sashimi still took about 15 minutes to reach us. The trade off is that servings were very generous and the quality is head and shoulders above those all you can eat places. The spider roll (soft shell crab) and Rock and Roll (shrimp tempura) we both worth the wait. After we left, the waitress came after us on a cold night to give my wife her forgotten gloves. The previous time, they lent us umbrellas for the walk to our car on a stormy night. Those are nice, personal touches that mean a lot to customers.
I first learned of this restaurant when I took a sushi making course at the LCBO a couple of years ago. The chef teacher for the evening class was the chef from MHK. I realized two things 1. I will never make sushi myself and 2. I had just found the best sushi restaurant in Ottawa. A friend and I try to visit every 2 months or more. The lunch menu specials are terrific the sashi/sushi lunch is my favourite, very reasonable price and a lot of food. I have also had the tempura shrimp appetizer and the dumplings. My friend always has the spicy salmon roll and it is amazing. Our last visit was about two weeks ago and great as always. Almost forgot TOM YUM soup is amazing.
It is a small restaurant as restaurants go seating around 30 people.
