Flipper's Seafood Restaurant - Ottawa

Awesome seafood try the Oysters Kilpatrick (you have to ask, not on the menu). Relaxing atmosphere, great servers! I lived in Ottawa for more than 30 years and Flipper's has ALWAYS been a required stop. Now living south of Toronto and the 7 hour drive does not make you too tired to have dinner at Flipper's! So relaxing, great menu, great servers, it is a cornerstone of Ottawa gastronomic! Reminds me of so many original restaurants in Atlantic Canada!

Very warm and inviting atmosphere. The owner is on premise everyday to welcome you as a new or the overwhelming number of repeat customers. The service is incredible (Donna who has been employed for many decades). The menu is enticing that compares to the quality that ends up on your plate. They offer a quality selection of wine from all price ranges. You can't go wrong for any occasion. Enjoy!

Gastronomic let down. Food was amazing waiters incredible. Unfortunately the owner is very disrespectful racist and should not be an owner of any type of establishment. I hope the couple take a picture and the owner of the establishment came up to me and told me off and stated that I was being a problem by helping a couple take a Memorable picture. My publicist tried to speak to her and she was extremely cross and disrespectful and it was very apparent that she’s racist and vile. It’s a shame because the people that work in this establishment and the food is incredible but her distasteful attitude is the reason why I would never go there or recommend this place. Especially if you’re a person of colour

Interestingly had large specials menu (see pic . Looked very good so hard the sardines which were flavourful but not exceptional. Seafood platter was excellent. Everything was hot Salmon melted in mouth, lobster was average, but rest was very tasty. Well worth the $35! Only one server on but he was pretty attentive and it was only a Tuesday night. Mixed atmosphere with nice linens and settings, floor was rustic and some of the decor typical of lower end seafood (plaster Paris mermaid although several cow artwork? . All in all though atmosphere was comfortable, inviting and semi romantic. Definitely worth a visit for food!

We love seafood and we love the way Flippers prepares their generous meals. It's always a must-go place when we visit Ottawa. This time our appetizers were escargots and a shrimp, crab meat and avocado salad. For out main, pan-fried pickerel. Superb! For dessert, a amaretto tartufo. We also like the wine list, which maxes out around $40, although the addition of a fumé blanc would be welcome. And... it would nice if they offered cappuccino's or lattes, but sadly no they don't.
