I was looking for ideas for a birthday restaurant and my brother Logan suggested it. He was right to do this, because from the moment you go, you are welcomed by a warm and welcoming environment. The staff is welcoming and quick to sit. The muddy drinks are amazing, my bf and I had the peach taste and it was perfectly mixed and served in a frozen glass that kept its temptation. We got the rib eye for 2 and oh my God, I never had a steak, that was so amazing. My family raises their own cattle cows, and it is rare to find a steak that suitable farm and grass fed up beef, but fauna fits perfectly to taste. My compliments to the cook as well, because it needs a decent amount of skill to get this kind of Char on the outside of the steak without affecting the taste. The steak served yellow carrots, potatoes and green beans in a delicious jus. My bf and I took a bite of every article and when I say that this food is dying, it is for to die. We had a chocolate raspberry ice cream. It was made with a dark chocolate crème and it was melt perfect in your mouth. The rich dark chocolate cream perfectly balances the cleansing of raspberries. If there is a place where you have to eat before you die, it is Fauna’s.
This is our new favorite restaurant in Ottawa. We just loved it from A-Z. Yummy handcrafted cuisine inspired by Canadian cuisine with touched by middle eastern flavors. The portions were satisfied for such a restaurant. The service was attentive, but not pretentious. Ambiance is brilliant for a date. We sit next to the window and enjoyed a very nice evening with hubby. Every dish washes inspiring and tasty. The bill was appropriate for fine food. Can't wait to go back!
Owner is beautiful and the staff is great! Went to pick up our takeout order and he talked to us while we waited. We mentioned that we had a decent commute back home and he offered plate our order and put us on the terrace. Your terrace is warm and welcoming and the food was beautiful and an absolute pleasure! The Bison carpaccio was phenomenal eating as I write. Can't wait to get back on the take-out, the terrace or hopefully dine-in when they can open it again!
Love the simplicity of the menu and how all the food is seasonal. The oysters were especially good!
Absolutely loved every bit of Fauna. Starting with amazing service, the food was everything I could ask for. You can tell that the food was delicately made with passion from local sources. The server who took care of my table was very helpful on deciding a wine that suited my taste and very attentive. I'd definitely come back again
