Dunn's Famous Deli & Steakhous - Ottawa

Food as good as in Montreal, but facilities not good, special washrooms, service very nice... street view interesting

Was very disappointed in the $17.99 jumbo smoked meat sandwich. The size was below average when they advertise a Jumbo 10 oz smoked meat sandwich. The quality was not great as I have had better and many different restaurants. The pickle that comes with your meal is 1/8 of a slice, barely enough to garnish your plate and they charge an extra $1.99 per pickle. The fries were good with a side of gravy at an extra charge of course. I was really looking froward to the experience and left in big disappointment on the quality and high prices. I do not recommend.

My wife and I went to the Merivale location for lunch today. We both ordered the jumbo smoked meat platter. And we ordered our son the hamburger platter. Hamburger came first and we cut it in half to cool it for him, where we were greeted by a pink undercooked Center. We flagged the waitress and she brought it back to the kitchen. Our smoked meat came out shortly after, my wife attempted to eat her smoked meat and with her first bite it fell apart. The meat was so full of fat and gristle that she couldn’t bite through it. By the end of her sandwich she had a ball of half chewed fat and gristle that was inedible. Mine was the same. As I was coming to grips with the fact that I was going to have to grab fast food somewhere else to satisfy my hunger. Out comes our sons replacement burger. And of course this burger was just as pink. Would not recommend.

This location is one of the bigger Dunn's in Ottawa located in the west end of the city. Dunn's claim to fame has always been their smoke meat which is very good. The owners of this location are introducing a new menu. It is a Dunn's.
