Divino Wine Studio - Ottawa

We have been here before a few years ago and unfortunately I was disappointed in the food and the service received recently. We arrived a few minutes late for our reservation and were seated immediately and provided with water. We then had to wait over 30 minutes for our server to come to provide us with a list of the specials. One person did come to fill up our water but said she could not answer any questions about the menu. When our server finally came by she was VERY knowledgeable and provided us with a wine recommendation but we did not see her again until after dinner. We ordered appetizers which were both very good but we had to wait for a knife. One of the owners dropped off our main meal without providing us with the details (as I had heard the other servers do) of the food. She also did not provide us with appropriate utensils. I had the lamb which was well done but under seasoned and my husband had the duck confit which he said was fine but difficult to cut. Unsure if we will return due to the poor service.

Ate at Divino's last week for the 5-6th time. Unfortunately on this visit the best thing was the wine that I ordered. We ordered the 3 course meal and it seemed to resemble the same dishes that have been on the menu for the last year or so. While the gnocci is a mainstay the flavours were ho hum. I ordered the salmon for the next course and there was zero flavour. It was a decent portion but there was no flavour, it was on a bed of pea's and fava beans. I am a decent home cook and when I come away from the meal saying I could have done much better then the evening was not a success. It is time to add some new choices to the menu and flavours. My husband had the steak which was charred on the outside so he could not remove that flavour from his palette. Not sure we will be back for some time as we definitely did not get what we paid for. Servers and atmosphere was great but could not make up for the rest.

Service was good, atmosphere not so with the huge TV. Too distracting. The size of the portions was very small and overpriced. They also don't give you the choice of the tip amount which is added to the total.

Everything about this place was outstanding. From the decor and ambiance, to the service and the food. I am still day dreaming about the dishes. Highly recommended!

One of the greatest fine dinning in Ottawa. Owned by the awesome Eric, he is there to make your experience exceptional.The experience we had was perfect. From the moment we entered, Eric personally attended our table. Some of us asked for cocktails not included in the menu and he went out of his way to prepare what we asked for! After dining, he joined us to take pictures and celebrate a friend's birthday! In terms of the quality of the foods, very luscious and diverse choices. I didn't opt in for a 5 course. Instead my partner and I went for the grilled Mozzarella and wrapped smoked prosciutto for the appetizer and the duck for the main course! They were both absolutely phenomenal and exactly the kind of gastronomic dish I was looking for in a restaurant.I also tasted my friends five course and I was impressed with their cucumber soup. Who would have thought cucumber soup would taste great.I wasn't impressed with their beer selection, and absolutely not with the price of the beer $(23 for a mediocre 750 ml beer ), but I guess I shouldn't have had beer in an italien restaurant and of course it did not change my 5/5 opinion about the restaurant and Eric!
