Chahaya Malaysia - Ottawa

We had a delightful evening exploring the tastes of Malaysia. We were a party of five and we ordered five appetizers, five main dishes and two desserts to share. We were not disappointed. Some things were spicy, some things were sweet, some things were hot and some really hot, but everything was absolutely delicious! The owner is absolutely delightful and he even shared some cooking tips (and ingredient shopping places!) with us. Overall a wonderful experience.

Amazing beef rendang chilly hot with traditional rice is the best and get shrimp or fish curry with coconut milk curry to keep hot cool balance! fried fish with special sauce is gr8! Couldn't find such taste and quality even in Malaysia!

Amazing authentic Indonesian food, used to go there every week when i was living in ottawa, Now it is always on my list of things to do while visiting :)Spicy so be prepared but they can mild it down to suite your palate, their nasi Goring is amazing so is the chef's special dishes, make room for desert i have to order Ice Kachang everytime i go there, would've given it a 5 stars if it wasn't for their location but their food is second to none if you are into Malaysian/ Indonesian food

It is by no doubt the best food I have eaten in Ottawa. Freshly made delicious Malaysian food. Not to mention the very friendly and professional service! Must go go anyone who is in Ottawa.

This has been our favourite take out place in all of Ottawa for about 15 years now. We were first introduced to it by one of our Australian friends who was craving Malaysian food. It was our first experience with Malaysian and Indonesian food and we absolutely loved it. We have since introduced dozens of more friends and they all love it too. The food is amazing (great portions, the best flavours)!!We now have children who love it too.My husband's favourites are #57 and V9.My favourite and now my children's favourites are V12 & V9.The ONLY downside is that they are located in the east end and we are in the west end. It doesn't stop us though. When we order take out, we order enough for leftovers!!
