Brown Loaf Bakery - Ottawa

Everything I've tried to do with this bakery was excellent. sourteigbrot, scones, biscotti, cheese croissant (soo good.) the owner is also very nice and friendly.

What a beautiful professionally made croissant! Of course it's crispy outside, soft and buttery aromatic inside! Always perfectly shaped and, no mess after bites and bites and bites. I experience is the crispier the croissant is, the messier it is while biting it or even just holding it since the outside layer always comes off so easy. Half the croissant would fell off already before finishing it. I give it 6 stars for its perfection!

It's the most affordable and delicious bakery in the area! I go about twice a week, usually for their fresh croissants in the morning and then a post-work treat in the afternoons. I've been working my way to try everything in the bakery. Favourite: plain croissant, perfect feuilleté layers and SUCH A GREAT PRICE! Pleasant surprise: The cinnamon roll has a cinnamon caramel coated between the layers, that is perfect consistency and not too sweet. Won't find anywhere else: French Basque cheesecake. It's the perfect balanced cheesecake! EVERYTHING IS HANDMADE AND FRESH!!!

Truly an amazing place, and amazing people. A place that can truly deliver top notch pastries, bread, and desserts without cutting corners in the preparation, or their quality. From cheese croissants, to sourdough bread, to butter tarts and green tea cookies; this place is a one stop shop for a perfect get together over some hot tea, or for a quick snack. A fantastic example of what could be achieved locally
