168 Sushi Japanese Buffet - Ottawa

We were served warm sushi with cold avocado, and the seaweed had a stale, old flavor. The rice tasted artificial, and the wasabi had a sweet taste. The only redeeming dish was the crab tempura. There are much better all-you-can-eat sushi options in Ottawa; I would recommend steering clear of this place.

Katie is right; it’s really not as good as it used to be. The sushi is okay, but the soups are underwhelming, and the beef and chicken skewers I tried today were quite bitter. The sweet and sour chicken is just average. I used to visit often, but now I think I’ll opt for hotpot at Little Sheep on Marivale instead. On the plus side, there is parking available in the back.

Where do I start? The satay was overcooked to the point of being burnt, and the sushi fell apart on my plate—it was unlike anything I've ever encountered. The rolls were inconsistent, and the sashimi was so thin it was almost transparent. The seaweed wrappers weren’t even properly secured. I didn’t anticipate gourmet quality from an all-you-can-eat sushi spot, but I had hoped the food would at least be somewhat edible. I'm quite frustrated and would suggest searching for a better option elsewhere.

I had a great experience at this restaurant with prompt service and tasty food. I went for dinner and found myself staying for two hours, leaving comfortably satisfied without any discomfort. The dinner buffet cost $37, not including tip and drinks.

I'm really frustrated. The food here is genuinely awful. I'm not a great cook, but my homemade sushi and fried rice are far superior. Looking back, there were clear signs that this wouldn’t end well when my order was ready in just three minutes—faster than McDonald's! How can you possibly prepare sushi with cooked salmon and fry chicken wings in that short a time? It's obvious they serve pre-made food. The meal I received was even worse than the most disappointing frozen dinners I’ve had. Please, do yourself a favor and steer clear of this restaurant. I usually support small businesses, but this one is absolutely terrible.
