Mr B's-march House - Ottawa

Went there last night for supper and was impressed. My wife ordered the Ravioli in cream sauce and must say this sauce was the best I have EVER tasted to date. I had fettuccini and seafood plate called Frutti de Mare in a rose sauce. Pasta was fresh and delicious, sauce was nice but nothing like my wifes plate. My one complaint was the small amount of clams and shrimp. In fact 3 larger clams and 4 tiny ones with only ONE large shrimp on entire plate. When you pay for seafood you should get enough especially with clams because although they are large on the outside the meat inside is tiny.

New location is a disappointment We've been going to Mr B's because of the atmosphere and it really felt intimate and comfortable. The new location is more like cafeteria atmosphere and bland. Since it is one big open area with next to no decor it makes it quite noisy since there are no separations or partitions to break up the sound. Little things like the specials board used to be visible from anywhere in the restaurant and now only at the front door or by the kitchen. You have to memorize or get up to go see it. No big deal but 2 more chalk boards would fix this. Owner should pay attention the whoever answers the phone as they like to keep the attendance low as we've called for reservations for the day we wanted to go to be told they were full yet when we dropped by the place was almost half empty.The food quality is not quite the same and portions may be somewhat smaller. With zero atmosphere and being noisy because of the lack of partitions has taken this restaurant off our list of go to places. To bad as the original location was were we like to entertain guests.

Very disappointed! Waitress was very rude during our meal and rushed us through dinner. As we were enjoying our conversation at the end of our meal she asked us to move somewhere else so she could put someone else at the table we were sitting at. We hadn't even finished our drinks!!! I thought this was fine dining but obviously she thinks it's McDonald's and need to turn the tables. Someone obviously needs to teach her about customer service!!!!!

Great food in a comfortable environment. I had the manicotti fiorentina and it was delicious. Took the wife, the kids and grandkids on a Wednesday evening. We were never rushed. I even had dessert: cheesecake with blueberries. Wonderful. The decor felt very New York Little Italy (my hometown . There 's plenty of parking in the rear of the strip of stores. Dress is casual but reservations is a smart idea.

I always like to go there when I'm near the airport in Ottawa. It doesn't look like much from outside, but you can be sure to get a great meal once inside. Always fresh past and good service. Great Italian place.
