Tempura Wakisaka - Otaru

Very nice and crispy tempura freshly made and serve piece by piece in front of you. The shop is extremely small with just 8 seatings tho.

Excellent. You must stay in line from earlier than open time. If you go to here with 2 people, order vegetable and hokkaido special. That is a economic choice.

Ingredients were of decent quality, but the meal was quite pricey (like most eateries around the central sightseeing part of Otaru). Although there wasn't a long queue, the food took very long to be prepared. Somehow the service felt a little off and not very hospitable, even though they weren't outright rude or anything.

Simply love the tempura here, everything is prepared and cooked only after you order. There are only 8 available seats in this little joint, expect a queue and observe the opening times in order not to be disappointed. We had it last year as well and are happy to say the standards are well kept and I highly recommend a stop here.

A small place with limited seating specializing in tempura. I arrive before opening timing and there is already a small queue forming. You can see the entire process of how they prepare your food which is cool. Piping hot and perfectly fried tempura which comes with dipping pink salt or light sauce. No problems with their customer service. I think people who are used to high Japanese service standards may find fault with this store but it seems perfectly fine to me, just a place serving food with no frills.
